AIR ASIA JOIN HANDS WITH GOOGLE
As a part of its transformation to travel technology company, AirAsia is introducing Google Cloud’s machine learning and AI (artificial intelligence) technologies into every aspect of its business.
Air Asia aims to expand beyond air transport, and digitalising the operations and processes to become more efficient. Google Cloud will allow AirAsia to use the data it already owns, opening up opportunities for the carrier to build new businesses.
AirAsia is building two new digital platforms, airasia.com, a digital travel platform for flight, accommodation, tours, ground transport and entertainment, BigLife which will incorporate all the investments under the digital arm Redbeat Ventures, such as the money app BigPay, in-flight connectivity platform Rokki, online marketplace Ourshop and logistics services RedBox and RedCargo.
AirAsia also hopes to use Google Cloud expertise to maximise operational efficiency and reduce risk through predictive maintenance, real-time weather forecasting and crew optimisation. AirAsia aims to improve demand forecasting and targeted marketing and provide personalised experiences to increase loyalty amongst customers.
