The Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries has recently revealed that the stretch over which Nagaland’s famous ‘Hornbill Night Carnival’ will take place from December 1-10, will be a plastic free zone. The carnival is a part of the International Hornbill Festival of Nagaland, an annual tourism promotion event organised by the State Government. As announced, this year, there will be a ban on usage of all kinds of plastic and non biodegradable materials. Even thermocol and plastic mineral water bottles have been banned as a part of the environment conservation drive.
Defaulters will be strictly penalised, KCCI revealed.
The 10-day night carnival would be held from 6 pm to 9 pm from the Phoolbari junction to Razhu Point in Nagaland.
