A ‘civil engineering spectacle’ as proclaimed by Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Manish Sisodia, Delhi’s 575 metre Signature Bridge over River Yamuna in Northwest Delhi is all set to get unveiled to the public after 14 years of hard work and toil put into it’s making. “From the top of the bridge, the people of Delhi will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the city, like people can from the Eiffel Tower (in Paris). The people will be taken to the top of the bridge in four elevators with a total capacity of carrying 50 people,” as revealed by the deputy CM.
Not only is this bridge the first asymmetrical cable bridge of the country but also, has many more credits to it’s name. The bridge will have a 154-metre-high glass viewing box, which is double the height of Qutub Minar, offering majestic views of the heart of India from a great height, all at once. Having four elevators for taking people to the top, the bridge also has some special spots reserved solely for taking selfies. Apart from the aesthetic value, it would also help in reducing the vehicular traffic in the Wazirabad bridge.
In a nutshell, the Signature Bridge is definitely something in which the whole nation has it’s eye on with all our hopes pegged to be able to get a wonderful view of the capital all in a blink.
